Nowadays accelerators can be found in many applications, for material analysis, for the production of x-rays and for medical imaging and treatment. At VDL Enabling Technologies Group we work together with multiple research institutes and universities to create innovative accelerator equipment. This co-design combines the best of both worlds; novel accelerator science with design for manufacturability. In this lecture, Miranda van den Berg will explain what is done to improve the accelerator technology and how we work together to create the precision parts that make current state of the art accelerators functional.
