An organization benefits from quickly and efficiently finding high risk areas which impose a negative impact either in production or in the field. This involves an effective and efficient risk assessment execution – Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. But when you drop the word “FMEA”, people immediately get visions about boring and sleep-inducing sessions with (too) many people who discuss for a long time what ultimately makes no sense and the result disappears into a drawer. The magic word to have a successful FMEA and to get employees enthusiastic again about performing an FMEA is to bring FOCUS in what you do, and FOCUS on the things that matter.
