In this talk we would like to partly demystify data science and show how it can be used in addition to already used methodologies in product development like Six Sigma and Reliability engineering. Often data science activities are left to IT departments but applying aspects of it in the right situations it strongly enhances data-driven problem solving within R&D. What role can Data Science play and what can be left to the more ‘traditional’ methods.
